International Seminar on Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy (ISPCP ITB 2016)

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am very delighted to welcome you to participate in the International Seminar on Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy (ISPCP) 2016 which will be held by School of Pharmacy, Institut Teknologi Bandung, on September 1st -2nd 2016, in Harris Hotel Ciumbeuleuit, Bandung, Indonesia.

ISPCP brings the theme “Current trend of molecular pharmacology in the drug development and clinical use”. Pharmacology, the science underlying the interaction between chemicals and living systems, emerged as a distinct discipline allied to medicine since very long time ago. Together with other disciplines, its collaboration provides a framework for understanding how therapeutic agents work. Moreover, in terms of rational drug design, molecular pharmacology has been accelerating rapidly and plays an important role in the field of drug development. The majority of currently used medications have come from applying pharmacological thinking to the drug discovery process. In addition, pharmacology and clinical pharmacy also actively participate to ensure that the medications prescribed for patients contribute to the best possible health outcomes. Clinical pharmacists practice in health care and clinical settings are frequently having regular interaction with other health professional participating to better coordination of care.

Regarding to these facts, pharmacists are increasingly encouraged to update their knowledge. The ISPCP 2016 aims to bridge both roles of pharmacologist and clinical pharmacist and to gain experiences through scientific community according to enriching and sharing actual practice from global experts.

International seminar on Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy (ISPCP) are gathering of group of people with various pharmacy and related background in accordance to enhance our knowledge in these fields. There will be several speakers within each plenary section who are experts in pharmacology and clinical pharmacy. Providing a chance, ISPCP 2016 invites scientists, researchers, hospital and clinical pharmacists, government agencies, pharmaceutical organizations and all representatives of pharmacy and medical sectors, are able to showcase their cogent findings and at the same time get exposed to a useful collection of research and the latest developments.
